The Founders of Liberty Series
The obverse of these Silver, Antique Silver, and Copper rounds will feature the historical figures, while the reverse will display something that will represent the ideal that that person stands for. The artwork is designed by the famous Joel Iskowitz, a prolific United States coin designer whose goal is to bring humanity's story to life through his artwork. It is important that Americans remember those who helped found our society and the values they stood for because they have played essential roles in shaping the freedoms we have access to today.

The Freedom of Speech, Press, & Religion
Benjamin Franklin was a statesman, writer, publisher, scientist, inventor, and diplomat. He came from a family of modest means and little formal education but became a great thinker, writer, and advocate of the liberties that would make up the First Amendment. He valued the free circulation of ideas, and he promoted these liberties in many literary works, as well as by owning a newspaper, printing books, and government pamphlets. Franklin considered free expression to be the most dangerous adversary of authoritarian governments. He also believed in religious tolerance and freedom.
